Parri Estate Feast Volleyball Tournament 2009
Saturday October 31st 2009
ASVC held its 7th Annual National Volleyball Tournament on Saturday 31st October.
The tournament proved a great success with players from Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland joining a record number of Adelaide Spikers teams at the Marion Leisure Centre.
Our good friends at Parri Estate Winery continued their sponsorship of ASVC by providing the majority of the prizes for winners and runners-up in each grade level.
The level of play was excellent across the two pools and every team took it up a notch in the final rounds.
Freezone defeated Gumbles in the A-Grade final. It was a hotly-contested match and we're sure both teams will welcome the opportunity to play each other again when they meet in Melbourne in January.
Rice Power defeated Rank Outsiders in the B-Grade final. Both the SA teams had exceptional players and had to pull out all stops in the semis to ensure their place in the finals. It was an exciting final.
Hard Corp was the only C-Grade team in the competition. They stood their ground and won some sets, in the mixed pool of A-Grade and B-Grade teams, and demonstrated that persistance pays-off when they collected their prizes at the end of the day.
